Title: Teach Smart

Authors: PJ Caposey and Todd Whitaker

This book will transform your classroom from teacher-centered to learner-centered! This book shows you how with eleven easy-to-implement strategies you can use immediately to put students at the center! Get your students geared up for success and high achievement with great ideas for

  • providing a roadmap;
  • giving the work back;
  • differentiating daily instruction;
  • communicating for your audience, not to your audience

Each online book study will be facilitated by an outstanding WV educator. You will be expected to post responses weekly based on assigned readings in the book. You will be asked to apply strategies from the book in your classroom and report back to the forum for discussion and reflection. Your facilitator will guide and support you through this process if you have never participated in an online book study before.

The book study is two months in duration.

Upon registering, teachers will receive information via email about how to participate in the online book study.


Cost:
A one-time registration fee of $125.00 provides you materials, instructors, and lodging (if eligible) for all Academy sessions you attend during the 2016-17 cycle. Please pay the $125.00 registration fee online or mail to: WVCPD: 208 Hale Street, Charleston, WV 25301.

The book study will begin on DFebruary 13, 2017 and end on April 10, 2017. You must register by January 20, 2017, to allow time for your book and course instructions to be mailed to you.

Please log on to your account at www.wvcpd.org, to confirm that your address is current. WVCPD will not provide duplicate copies of books mailed to an outdated address.
