Session: Technology Tools Every Educator Needs

Description:

The Technology Tools Every Educator Needs professional development is a six week online course designed by WVCPD’s Infusing Technology program. The course will expose participants to a wealth of digital resources designed to help teachers stay organized, expand the classroom and engage students. Teachers will learn how to use resources to send lessons home digitally, in order to easily flip the classroom or to provide assistance to struggling or absent students. Infographics, digital bulletin boards and lots of ways to inject some fun into your classroom routine will also be covered. Teachers will finish the course with numerous technology resources that can be used not only for student engagement but as powerful organizational and communication tools.

OPTIONAL GRADUATE CREDIT FOR INFUSING TECHNOLOGY ONLINE – Spring 2018

There are six sessions in the Infusing Technology Online series. This series will run from August 2017 – March 2018. To apply for graduate credit, you need to successfully complete three of the six sessions scoring 80% or above. For more detailed information on the other sessions, please see the Infusing Technology section of the website.


Cost:
The registration fee is $25 per person. The registration fee must be paid online, by check or by purchase order in order to receive the log in information.

Date/Time
Monday, November 06, 2017 - Monday, December 18, 2017

The online class site will open on November 6, 2017 and close on December 18, 2017. During those six weeks, participants will be expected to complete four online assignments and actively contribute to the discussion in the collaborative space. Other than the requirement to have one assignment completed by November 20, 2018, completing the online assignments will be at your own pace. However, weekly postings to the collaborative space will be expected. The facilitators will be available online Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. There will also be a optional live session on Wednesdays from 3:00pm to 4:30pm for participants to ask questions or receive help. Appointments may also be made for one to one assistance.

Monday, November 6, 2017: Online class site opens

Monday, November 20, 2017: At least one assignment completed and turned in

Monday, December 18, 2017: All four assignments completed and turned in

Requirements:
BYOD - Bring Your Own Device. Participants will need to have access to a device that connects to the internet. Laptops preferred.
