Session: Tools and Tricks of Office 365 for Teachers and Students

Description:

The Tools and Tricks of Office 365 for Teachers and Students professional development is a six week online course designed by WVCPD’s Infusing Technology program. Office 365 is more than just Outlook,Word and Excel. Do you wish you knew more about all of the web apps offered in the WVDE Office 365 suite? This session is designed to help teachers get comfortable with numerous tools from the Office 365 "waffle". We will explore OneDrive, OneNote, Excel Survey/Forms, Office Mix, Sway, and other great features of Office 365. Teachers will learn how easy it is to use these innovative and engaging tools to weatherproof their classrooms, engage families in the learning process, and support student creativity, collaboration and learning.

OPTIONAL GRADUATE CREDIT FOR INFUSING TECHNOLOGY ONLINE – Spring 2018

There are six sessions in the Infusing Technology Online series. This series will run from August 2017 – March 2018. To apply for graduate credit, you need to successfully complete three of the six sessions scoring 80% or above. For more detailed information on the other sessions, please see the Infusing Technology section of the website.


Cost:
The registration fee is $25 per person. The registration fee must be paid online, by check or by purchase order in order to receive the log in information.

Date/Time
Monday, October 02, 2017 - Monday, November 13, 2017

The online class site will open on October 2, 2017 and close on November 13, 2017. During those six weeks, participants will be expected to complete four online assignments and actively contribute to the discussion in the collaborative space. Other than the requirement to have one assignment completed by October 16, 2017, completing the online assignments will be at your own pace. However, weekly postings to the collaborative space will be expected. The facilitators will be available online Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. There will also be a optional live session on Wednesdays from 3:00pm to 4:30pm for participants to ask questions or receive help. Appointments may also be made for one to one assistance.

Monday, October 2, 2017: Online class site opens

Monday, October 16, 2017: At least one assignment completed and turned in

Monday, November 13, 2017: All four assignments completed and turned in

Requirements:
BYOD - Bring Your Own Device. Participants will need to have access to a device that connects to the internet. Laptops preferred.

Audience:
Educators who are interested in harnessing the power of technology to reach out to families in order to facilitate student engagement and success.
