Event Detail

Session: Preparing for the AP Statistics Course - Advanced Placement Fall Institute (Morgantown)

Description:

The four major topics in the beginning study of statistics are exploratory analysis, data collection, probability, and statistical inference. Participants to this 1-day workshop will learn how to help students understand these concepts through content, classroom strategies and exercises, and the use of technology. Topics include measures of central tendency and variability, simulation, collecting data, basic probability, and the meaning of statistical inference. Through classroom ready activities, a deeper understanding of statistics will be developed, and hopefully will then be implemented throughout the curriculum from grade 6 to AP Statistics.

Please note: This session is not for preparing students to take the AP exam, but rather for helping the students to be prepared for the course.
