Principal's Leadership Academy

 

 


The Principals' Leadership Academy (PLA) consists of two main components: one for new principals and one for experienced principals. The academy supports continuing professional development for school leaders with the goal of increasing student achievement. WVCPD works under the leadership of the Principals' Leadership Academy Advisory Council to establish innovative methods to deliver services to new and experienced principals.

PLA Book Study

The summer 2017 PLA book study begins June 1 - July 31, 2017, focusing on the book Becoming a Learning School by Joellen Killion and Patricia Roy. The online study reviews a chapter each week and helps participants establish effected learning environments for all students. Click here to register and for details (deadlines apply).

WVAEMS and WVASSP Joint Conference

This joint annual conference provides a venue for learning and collaboration among the state's school administrators. Registration for the 2017 conference will be posted in the fall at wvcpd.org.

 

Upcoming Safe School Summit Dates TBA

The Safe Schools Summit addresses issues of school climate and safety. The Summit is designed for school principals and provides a venue to discuss topics such as drug awareness, school threat assessment and decision making, bullying, suicide prevention, and appropriate uses of social media (among many others).
